Did you know that over 500,000 Americans face homelessness? In the land of the free, it's a stark reality. But before we judge, it's important to understand that homelessness knows no bounds, affecting individuals from all walks of life.
Personal Experience: I once walked in their shoes. A former Department of the Treasury employee, I found myself homeless. The shame and tears were real. I was lucky to find shelter, but it came with its own set of challenges. Restricted freedoms echoed eerily, resembling incarceration.
Marriage brought new struggles. No electricity or gas due to financial constraints. We cooked on a hotplate, huddled for warmth, and rationed resources. It was a choice between sustenance and basic amenities. No one should face such a dilemma. It's by divine grace that we're still here.
The Birth of Lights Back On: This is why Lights Back On was born. We strive to be a lifeline for vulnerable communities, extending a hand to those struggling to meet their basic needs. Our mission is to guide individuals back to a place of stability and faith. Your support means the world to us.
