Not long ago, we were on our way to welcome a friend back to Atlanta when we saw a man sleeping on a bus stop bench. Not under a roof, not in a shelter—but on the cold metal seat of public transit. In a country known for opportunity, no one should have to call a sidewalk their bed.

Later, a close friend of ours—single mother of two—called us in tears. She was being evicted. No notice. No options. No backup. We helped her find emergency assistance just in time. But what if we hadn’t? Where would they have gone? What about the next family who doesn’t have someone to call?

These aren’t just stories. These are real people, and we’ve seen firsthand what happens when the system fails them.

At Lights Back On, we exist to be that backup. That light in the darkness. That one call when hope seems out of reach.

Our Mission

We provide solar-powered lights and energy solutions to people living in poverty, recovering from natural disasters, or facing housing instability. But we do more than hand out lights. We light the way toward dignity, safety, and a better tomorrow.

Because no one should have to cook in the dark, study by flashlight, or fear the night just because they can't afford electricity.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
